About GetSplitTip
GetSplitTip is a completely free tip and bill split calculator. It was built for one specific moment: the end of a restaurant meal, when the check arrives and someone has to work out the tip and who owes what.
The tool is deliberately simple. You enter the bill amount, add sales tax if you like, choose a tip percentage (or type your own), and set the number of people. Everything updates instantly as you type — no button to press and no waiting.
How it works
All calculations happen locally in your browser. There are no user accounts, no database, and nothing you enter is sent to a server. That is also why the calculator loads quickly and keeps working on a weak restaurant Wi-Fi connection.
Why this site exists
We created GetSplitTip because splitting a bill between several people should be quick, clear, and stress-free. You should not have to download an app or create an account just to divide a dinner check. Open the page, do the math, and get back to your evening.
Who it's for
The site is designed mainly for people dining in the United States and other English-speaking countries, but it supports several currencies — US dollars, euros, British pounds, and Canadian and Australian dollars — for group meals and travelers abroad.
